Domaine le Briseau Vouray “Petillant(Bubbly)” You are so Fine 2007 Loire, France. Bubbly Chenin Blanc, from grapes grown organically and vinified without sulphur dioxide. Fermented in old oak barrels the wine is a wonderful expression of the grape and region. The wines of le Briseau are always fun and capricious like the couple that owns the estate. http://louisdressner.com/Chaussard/
Thierry Puzelat KO Rose 2009 Loire, France. A VDT from the Loire valley, this year’s version is Gamay and Cabernet Franc. Light pink, bursting with pure strawberry fruits, with a hint of sweetness just fun enough for everyone. Thierry Puzelat is the younger of the two brothers who run Clos du Tue Boeuf, their family estate in Les Montils. Thierry started a négociant business, set up a winery in the village of Monthou-sur-Bièvre, and sourced excellent vineyards and vinetenders to buy their grapes. True to his conviction that good wine is made from healthy grapes, he has selected vine growers who farm their plots organically, in bio-dynamie for some. He now offers a range of local wines, both from Touraine and Cheverny.http://louisdressner.com/Puzelat/
Eric Texier Cotes du Rhone 2008 Rhone, France Mainly Grenache, with 20% white grapes. Bright and smooth with soft ripe red fruit character. Open and attractive with generous fruit. http://louisdressner.com/Texier/
Verasol “TN” Tempranillo 2008 Navarra, Spain, 88 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “This Tempranillo from the Navarra region is a lovely value, as it should sell for around ten dollars a bottle in the US. The bouquet offers up a great mélange of raspberries, cherries, herbal tones, a touch of balsam bough and a lovely, complex base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is fullish, deep and vibrant, with good mid-palate depth, a nice base of soil and just a bit of tannin poking through on the long, red fruity finish. This is really a very serious bottle of wine for its price. 2011-2020. (May/Jun 2009)” *88 points *Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): “Light, bright red. Lively aromas of strawberry and raspberry, with muskier notes of herbs and underbrush coming up with air. Light in body and refreshingly pure, offering spicy red berry flavors and no rough edges. What this lacks in complexity it makes up for with incisive red fruit character. (Sep/Oct 2009)”
Vinos de Terrunos Siete 7 2008 Garnacha.Tempranillo, Navarra, Spain. Vinos de Terrunos is a special project of wines that are custom made for Jose Pastor. All of the sources implement organic farming methods and all wines are made with the pure expression of fruit at the forefront. They show remarkable values from various regions around Spain. Fruity and elegant wine showing deep currant and dark stone fruit flavors.
